Jens Heuler is a German composer, pianist and electronic music artist based in Bonn, Germany. His work ranges from orchestral film music such as the original music for the Student Academy Award winning stop motion animation film LAIKA & NEMO, directed by Jan Gadermann and Sebastian Gadwo, and intimate film scores for documentaries such as Melanie Lischker's film BILDER (M)EINER MUTTER // LIFE ON TAPE, a collaboration with FREYA ARDE, to ambient electronic music. His most recent work also includes the retro tropical Jazz scores for Sonja Rohleder's award winning animated short film NEST, premiered at the Berlinale International Film Festival and – as a SHORT TIGER AWARD winning film – screened at the Cannes Film Festival by GERMAN FILMS and on festivals around the world, and her latest animated film SOMNI, also premiered at the Berlinale International Film Festival.

In his musical work Jens Heuler combines acoustic and electronic elements into organic music and soundscapes, fusing classical, generative and experimental compositional approaches. With his first solo EP RISING he focuses on working with analogue and modular synthesizers, where both generative and melody/harmony based approaches meet classical pianistic elements.

In addition to his compositional work, he also works as a lecturer in MUSIC PRODUCTION and PROJECT SUPPORT at the FILM UNIVERSITY BABELSBERG KONRAD WOLF and occasionally as an assistant composer and arranger and so he is involved in the music for the Oscar-nominated documentary OF FATHERS AND SONS, the German TV mini series DIE DASSLERS, the documentaries RABBI WOLFF and THE CORRIDORS OF POWER and many more.
